Criminal Checks

Our criminal background checks are conducted using a set of electronic fingerprints, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. We offer two service options:

• Standard: 24-48 hours turnaround time
• Premium: 5 business hours turnaround time

Criminal checks are performed using biometrically captured fingerprints in accordance with legal regulations. These fingerprints are electronically matched against the South African Police Services (SAPS) database using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). Once the fingerprints and data are submitted, the report typically returns within 24-48 hours.

All fingerprints are securely stored in our cloud-based system, making it easy to “re-check” staff in the future. Simply provide their name, surname, and ID number, and we can conduct the check remotely.

If a candidate is flagged for “Possible Illicit Activity Detected,” the report will indicate that a SAPS verification is requested. A detailed SAPS police report, including information on any pending trials or convictions, will be provided within 1-6 weeks.

For your convenience, we have several mobile units available to send one of our Certified Biometric Officers (CBOs) to your premises for a small additional fee (Johannesburg only). Additionally, we offer accessible fingerprint capture locations across the country.
