Overview
Unfortunately criminals don’t have distinguishing features and most times are fully integrated in society. On a daily basis we employ the services of numerous individuals to manage many aspects of our business and personal lives. The only way to verify their criminal background history is to conduct a criminal background check.
Criminal checks are done using biometrically captured fingerprints, in line with legislation. Using the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), the fingerprints are checked electronically directly against the South African Police Services (SAPS) database.

Criminal checks are done using biometrically captured fingerprints, in line with legislation. Using the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), the fingerprints are checked electronically directly against the South African Police Services (SAPS) database. Once the fingerprints and data have been submitted, the report usually comes back within 24-48 hours.
Fingerprints are stored in our cloud based system so in future should you require staff to be “re-checked” all that is required is their name, surname and ID number. We are then able to conduct the check remotely.
Should the candidate be in the system and flagged under “Possible Illicit Activity Detected”, the report will state SAPS Verification Requested. A SAPS police report with details of any pending trials and convictions will be sent within 1-6 weeks.
We do have various mobile units where we are able to send one of our CBO’s (Certified Biometric Officers) to your premises for a small additional fee (Johannesburg only). We also offer convenient fingerprint capture locations nationally.
